Mitutoyo Releases its "Quick Vision Accel Series" of High-Speed, Moving-Bridge CNC Vision Measuring Machines |
On April 1, 2001, Mitutoyo Corporation will start selling its new Quick Vision Accel Series, a line of high-speed, space-efficient and highly functional CNC vision measuring machines developed to serve the growing variety of IT-related industries. The fast-growing semiconductor and electronic component industries require vision measuring machines that ensure higher accuracy and functionality in order to meet the increasing demand for smaller, higher-density products. At the same time, companies are taking active steps to increase their productivity, requiring greater efficiency in all aspects of measurement operations. To answer these needs, Mitutoyo has successfully developed and merchandizing the Quick Vision Accel Series. These next-generation, high-speed CNC vision measuring machines combine industry leader Mitutoyo's accumulated know-how in vision and coordinate-measurement technologies, along with the optical technology it has gained as a lens manufacturer. The Quick Vision Accel Series was developed for use by IT-related companies. Boasting superior features such as moving-bridge type construction, high-speed operation (approximately twice that of a conventional machine), space-saving design (occupying approximately 30 percent less space than a conventional machine) and high functionality, these models are ideal for the measurement of lighter, thinner, shorter and smaller workpieces, e.g., IC packages, connectors, masks, and printed circuit boards. Mitutoyo's Laser Auto-Focus system, which allows high-speed, high-accuracy Z-axis measurements of warp or bump height in the evaluation of printed circuit boards, etc., is available as an option. The Quick Vision Accel Series comes in five sizes (the 400, 600 and 800 medium-size machines and the 1250 and 1500 large-size machines), two types (each offering different measuring accuracy), and four grades (based on combinations of illumination units and magnification-variation units), thus allowing the customer to configure a system to their required specifications. After the launch on April 1, Mitutoyo expects to sell 500 units in the first year. [Features]
