Introducing the "MF-A/MF-UA Series" Measuring Microscopes/Universal Measuring Microscopes |
Mitutoyo Corporation has developed a new series of measuring microscopes, the MF-A/MF-UA series, which provide clear and bright images with reduced flaring and greatly improved operability. The series come in a variety of sizes to answer the measuring needs for a wide range of workpiece sizes. These new series of measuring microscopes will be released for sales on June 21, 2001. Since the release of its "MF series" measuring microscopes in 1997, Mitutoyo has been steadily establishing its position as an optical measuring instrument maker. With the newly developed measuring microscopes, the "MF-A/MF-UA series", Mitutoyo plans to further expand its market by targeting a wider range of industries including the machining field, with the automobile industry as its core, as well as the electronics, semiconductor, and IT-related industries. The "MF-A/MF-UA series" measuring microscopes provide clear and bright images, reducing flaring in the optical system to 50% of that of conventional microscopes. This has been made possible by the technologies that Mitutoyo had developed over the years as an optical lens maker. At the same time, in responding to the user's needs, Mitutoyo has taken great care in improving even small details, such as the measuring table feed system and the Z-axis focus handle, to achieve a greatly improved operability. The MF-A/MF-UA series are available in four different sizes, from a measuring range of 50 X 50mm (X-axis x Y-axis) to 300 x170mm, the latter of which is the largest in its class, thus supporting a wide range of workpiece sizes. The MF-A/MF-UA series make a variety of applications possible with the use of the LED illumination system, fine-feed rotary table, etc., as well as the "vision unit", which instantly upgrades a MF-A/MF-UA series measuring microscope to a vision measuring unit, for even more efficient vision measurement. 1,200 machines, as a total of all the series, are expected to be sold in the first fiscal year. |
[FEATURES] |
(1) |
Wide view field, erect image with little flaring |
|
By using Mitutoyo's optical technologies that were developed over the years, flaring in the optical system is reduced to a minimum to provide a clear, bright image. (Flaring reduced to 50% of that of Mitutoyo's conventional microscopes.) |
(1) |
The widest measuring range in its class |
|
The MF-A/MF-UA1730 series provide the widest measuring range in their class (X-axis: 300mm, Y-axis: 170mm, Z-axis: 220mm). |
(2) |
Improved operability |
|
The measuring table employs the newly developed "click-release" system, which allows the operator to keep his/her hands on the handle all the time, whether it is a wide-range travel or a fine-feed. The counter zero-switch is placed near the XY handle to eliminate unnecessary hand movement. |
|
The long working distance objective lenses allow measurements of workpieces that have steps. The MF-UA series are equipped with plan apochromat FS objective lenses. |
|
Ergonomic design with the Z-axis focus handle positioned at 320mm above the eye level (MF-A), to allow operations in a comfortable posture. |
(3) |
Allows installation of Vision Unit (optional accessory) |
|
By installing the optional Vision Unit, efficient vision measurement that is one step ahead is made possible. |
