Mitutoyo Corporation's Hiroshima Calibration Center (6-8-20 Koshingai, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture), operating under the company's Techno Service Business Division, received certification on April 11 from the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation, an independent administrative corporation that certifies compliance with the Traceability System under the Japanese Measurement Law (JCSS) *1, thus becoming an accredited calibration service for micrometers, calipers and other general measuring instruments conforming to ISO/IEC 17025 *2.
In response to the April 1, 2001 revision to the Measurement Law, which expanded the scope of certification to cover general measuring instruments, the Hiroshima Calibration Center quickly received the examination for additional measuring tools and successfully obtained certification. With that, it became the second accredited calibration facility in the Mitutoyo organization, following the Utsunomiya Calibration Center (2200-1 Shimoguri-cho, Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture).
Mitutoyo already provides JCSS-compliant calibration services for laser-wavelength measuring instruments, block gauges and standard scales at its Tsukuba Calibration Center (430-1 Kamiyokoba, Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture), Miyazaki Plant (10652-1 Tano-cho Ko, Miyazaki-gun, Miyazaki Prefecture) and Kiyohara Plant (24 Kiyohara Industrial Park, Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture). As part of an effort to support QS-9000-certified companies, the Kawasaki Calibration Center (1-20-1 Sakato, Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) received an accreditation on January 24, 2001 from RvA NKO, a Dutch certification association providing accreditation services in Europe, as a calibration facility conforming to ISO/IEC 17025.
The accreditation of our Hiroshima Calibration Center expanded the sphere of our calibration service for QS-9000-certified businesses.
