Mitutoyo Corporation announced that its Techno Service Business Division (location: 20-1, Sakado 1-chome, Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) has acquired accreditation as a calibration service provider from the Dutch Accreditation Council RvA, a European accreditation body, by meeting the ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines.
Founded in 1981, the Dutch Accreditation Council RvA is the European accreditation body with the longest tradition which accredits not only organizations in the Netherlands but also those in other countries. In particular, RvA is engaged in accrediting calibration-related capabilities.
This latest accreditation has enabled Mitutoyo to be the first Japanese manufacturer of precision measuring instruments to offer an on-site calibration service to corporate clients within the automobile industry who have been accredited for the quality management systems ISO/TS 16949 and QS 9000.
Some of the Mitutoyo facilities have already started calibration service conforming to ISO/IEC 17025; these include: the Tsukuba Calibration Center, the Miyazaki Plant, the Utsunomiya Calibration Center, and the Kiyohara Calibration Center, which are engaged as service providers certified by the Japan Calibration Service System (JCSS), as well as the Kawasaki Calibration Center, which is a RvA-certified service provider. Mitutoyo provides highly reliable calibration services that can only be offered by a manufacturer for a wide range of products, including high-precision standard machines, coordinate measuring machines, projection inspection machines, measuring microscopes, and measuring tools.
