Mitutoyo Corporation (Headquarters: Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Toru Nakagawa) has launched two new power-driven Z-axis models of measuring microscope in the MF/MF-U series'. These microscopes have been developed to include Z-axis motor drive capability while retaining manual operation on the X and Y axes. Mitutoyo will exhibit all models in the MF/MF-U series' at JIMTOF2014, the 27th Japanese International Machine Tool Fair, from October 30th, and will be located at Booth No. W3021, West Hall 3, at Tokyo Big Sight.
The electrically-driven up/down movement for focusing on the new models provides better operability and serves to relieve fatigue in applications that would otherwise involve excessive operation of the focusing control knob. Mitutoyo has made intuitive manual operation of the microscope a priority by providing a quick release mechanism on each handle that lets you easily move to the target area without removing your hands from the X and Y handles when moving the stage. Moreover, combine it with the optional image unit to perform ultra-fast, one-second focusing.
With a lineup that boasts a large stage for long stroke measurement of 400×200×220 (X×Y×Z-axes) mm, Mitutoyo's 80-year history in technology has taken measurement possibilities one step further and through its precision measuring technology, Mitutoyo makes a social contribution for the continual evolution of manufacturing.
New Features
Motor-driven Z-axis
The viewing head is motor-driven in the Z axis and controlled by using a jog shuttle placed near the
mote control box. Limit the downward stroke of the head at any point like by using the motor-drive to
set the lower limit of the head travel, which enables you to prevent the objective lens from colliding with
the workpiece. All of which allow you to operate the microscope without worry.
