Notification of winning the 2018 Good Design Award
The Measurement Data Wireless Communication System, U-WAVE-TC/U-WAVE-TM manufactured by Mitutoyo Corporation was awarded the 2018 Good Design Award. (Sponsored by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, a public interest incorporated foundation)

Measurement data wireless communication system, U-WAVE-TC/U-WAVE-TM
A measurement data wireless communication system that enables measurement data to be transmitted to a PC by installing Mitutoyo's Vernier caliper or micrometer on it. This product provides a user-friendly and safe measuring operation with a receiving confirmation LED, buzzer and more without losing operability thanks to the compactness and integration of all features into a measuring instrument. The newly developed wireless module using our proprietary communication system offers a full lineup of functions including up to 20 m of communication distance, 400,000 transmissions achieved by power saving, waterproof specifications and more.

<Evaluation comment from judge>
Many digital measuring instruments can wirelessly transmit data today, but these instruments have been formed so far by installing wireless in addition to a digital measuring instrument. Integrating the wireless and digital measuring together into this product has solved the issues of the whole shape, ease of grip, ease of utilization, low-power data transmission and more as well as simultaneously improving the complex functions. We have highly evaluated this product because of the remarkable coordination, stability and reliability as a measuring instrument.
